Five Star BBQ & Catering Company is the creation of Jared Terry (JT), a connoisseur of the art of the BBQ. JT loved smokin’ and he cherished feeding family and friends! He opened 5 Star in 2009 to the delight of BBQ fans all over Utah County.
JT’s spent years experimenting, tasting, critiquing, and getting the sweetness and spiciness “just right.” In 2014, Kevin Santiago, a BYU alum and lover of all things food, discovered 5 Star BBQ & Catering Company and recognized it was a match made in heaven. Kevin immediately spotted the opportunity for growth and JT was ready to pass the torch! Shortly after discovering the best BBQ in Utah County, Kevin invested in 5 Star BBQ & Catering Company with partners Ty Mattingly and Lee Johnson, and picked up where JT left off.
In addition to staying precise to the carefully and thoughtfully composed recipes of JT, they focused on sharpening customer service, expanding the fan base, and designing a place where everyone could gather for hit-the-spot food and never-forget memories.
Together, Kevin, Ty and Lee’s goal has been to create an eating experience where everyone is welcome, good friends can have great food, and where people want to return to over and over for the location, atmosphere and fantastic, smokin’, southern eats!
